A trip up to the Bay along the coast would be great. Santa Barbra is a little bit close. Over the summer I took the coast from SF up to Arcata, and backed down through the wine country. Awesome ride. Email me if you plan a trip up to the Bay.

Cool. I am in for that. Spring would be perfect for a coast trip! We can also make a Mexico run. Those are pretty fun.

I am doing that the MOTOGP weekend. Did it last year and it was a great ride. There are some great roads in the Santa Barbara wine country!

Post Highway One to Canada
:D I know that trip as a few years back (many, actually) I mounted up my bike with enough camping gear for a month, left Oceanside and as soon as I got to San Clemente vowed to stay on Highway One all the way. Not possible in some places, but I camped on the beaches and in the forests and by the time I got to Eureka (mid July) I was freezing. I kept buying more clothes and I started looking like the Michelin Man. By the time I got to Oregon I was sick of trees. Backtracked and turned inland at Eureka (where it was 50 degrees), camped on the river a few days then went to Redding, where it was 115 deg. and rode down to the Gold Country, over to Reno, down 395 and back to Oceanside. Took a total of six days. Could barely stand up, got stomach pains from unwashed camp utensils, ran off the road twice looking at the amazing scenery and I value the pictures of the trip as much as anything I ever did. Not one mechanical problem and met a lot of weird dudes along the way.

Post nows the time to plan trip
My wife and I am planning a trip up the coast to at least SF this summer on ST4s. Leave around July 1. Would enjoy some company then. Bought the rear case to go along with the saddle bags so have a little more room for something besides swimming suits. We started to do it last summer but wife's knee swelled up and in too much pain. Any advise on trip would be appreciated.

Maybe we could schedule a ride in July. I have made that trip a few times and it is a blast.
