Post My Death Valley blast
I have been "jonesing" for a long ride so took the opportunity of Missy going out of town to take a nice overnighter to Death Valley. It was a great trip and I took some great roads. I went from SD to Idyllwild. Up through Big Bear (went Eastbound on the 18 uphill...damn, that is a great road). I also took 18 northbound into the desert. If anyone goes to Big Bear make sure to take that road. It is just fantastic!

I stayed the night in Shoshone then went through the valley. From there I took 395 to the 178 through Lake Isabella and onto Bakersfield. Another amazing road!

Here are a few pics for you guys. If you are so inclined you can check out the rest of the journey on my website

Thanks for sharing the pics James. Looks like an awesome ride. I did that ride when I lived in Vegas...

It was a great time. I didn't put up the best pics but there were some amazing roads that I got to go on. Roads that I would have never known existed.
Most of them were fine for any bike. I wish that I had a dual sport though. Something with a large fuel capacity and good knobby tires. Then I could have really explored the park. But, I only had the weekend to go up, explore the park, and return.
It is really close to Vegas.
