Post My Solo Trip to San Francisco
Ok, I'm sorry. As a new member who hasn't fully explored the forums, I wasn't sure where to post this. I've also posted this in the Duc Sightings page where I first started. Here it is again, in the right spot. This is page 1 of 2.

I just picked up a used M620, and decided to take it out for a getting-to-know-you trip. The four-day tour was a great introduction to the new bike. Having only ridden vintage motorcycles and scooters, riding a Ducati was an eye-opening experience. It's interesting; when I hit the brakes, the bike actually stops. Like, immediately. And what's this about engine braking? My vintage bike really doesn't slow much when I just let up the throttle; getting used to the immediate change in speed on the Ducati took some doing.

The long trip really gave me time to settle into the new machine. I'm utterly charmed.

Anyway, here are some photos and a quick write-up about the trip. My husband, Jeff, bought Jay's M800 and is hoping to be able to join me on the next adventure (although I may not wait around for him; I'm completely ready for my next trip).

Looks like fun! Thanks for sharing!

Great write-up! I love that trip and good on ya for doing it on Monster! I haven't met you but you are definitely on my "cool people list"

We are riding to Big Bear on Sunday if you two want to come out with us. Really pretty up there.

Hey Christian, I would be more than happy to lead a pack up to San Francisco. It is getting on the cool side now though so maybe late spring / early summer. Or next fall. Would you want to make this trip?

Great write up Raven. Although I do 500+ miles a week, I am not sure I could make that one. Thank you for sharing!!

Yup, just one (1) if I had an ex-wife, she would've taken her's with her.

Sure you could. It actually becomes a lot easier the more you do it. If you take a good route you don't even feel like you have gone that far.

Thanks for the offer of the Big Bear trip! I'd love to, but I have family stuff all weekend (my sister-in-law's in town... what do you think I'd rather be doing?).

I'm up for future trips, though; just let me know if there's fun to be had. I'm on board.
