Post 996 kickstand bracket breaking
Has anyone had problems with a 996 or similar kickstand bracket breaking? I had a second one break on me, my bike fell on it's side and scrached my ferings. I'm looking for any recommendations.

Thanks!!!

Not on a 996, but mine broke on my Monster, within the first 2 or 3 years of ownership. I had Sonny Angel make me a stronger one.

Thanks for the reply. I may stop by and check them out to see what they can do for me.

It's worth a visit regardless. Cool people, cool place. He's a skilled machinist, and can make you what you need if you wish it.

Do you spin your bike on the kickstand to turn it around in parking lots or spaces? I know that this is a common practice for some and there are kickstand assemblies that can't take the stress. If not, perhaps spacing the kickstand out a little bit with some washers and longer bolts will take the load off the stand that is placed on it by the bike's weight tilting into it.
