Post But it's not RED!!!
Congrats Andy!
That has to the most technologically sophisticated bike on the market.
I'd be curious to get your take on it after you've had it for a while.

You must be keeping the Mrs. very happy!

enjoy!

Thanks all for the nice comments,

Bill G - Golden rule in my house is make sure mom is happy and everything is golden ! I only had the bike for 10 days before we left for CO road trip (10 days long) and put on roughly 1000 mi in those 10 days.

The bike is amazingly easy to manage all that power as the DTC is quite strong in helping you manage you input. It PULLS like a fiery red freight train from HELL from 4500-13500rpm, and I think I actually felt a minor compartmentalization effect from holding on - got it to 177mph in 5th! Before I shut it down :idiot:
In terms of Palomar and technical twists it feels light and easy to steer - a little more top heavy than the Ducatis - and the brakes feel the same as the 1198 really. Put a race ecu and titanium termi's on the 1198 and haven't grilled it yet but I think it will be lighter ,nimbler and obviously without DTC I will need to be more careful! So looking forward to that when we get back on Mon.
Hopefully we can put a ride together soon , maybe this Sunday .

John - how is the little one? Come out and ride with us soon.

Ciao and again thanks to others for comments

I think advanced electronics will soon become a standard part of top level sport bikes. TC, fly-by-wire, variable engine modes, etc are all showing up on these bikes.
Great to hear that you find it helpful. Others report "intrusive" operation.

Cranking that thing up to high speed must be a rush; you've exceeded what I've dared to take the MV up to... fun stuff.

How did you get the gray swing arm with the
Motorsports colors? Mine has the polished swinger.

I bought a Demo model (got a GREAT DEAL) that had the grey swingarm and had the dealer switch out the panels to MS colors.
Yours is correct and stock , plus I like the dull color of the swingarm.

How are you enjoying it so far,
This AM had the best ride up palomar EVER , it was 720am and had my friends along , Porsche Carrera GT and Ferrari F430 and F360 Stradale, Corvette ZR6 and Cadillac CTS with ZR1 motor , Dodge Viper (frikkin 850 to the wheels  ) and two early 911's.

I led them up Palomar , cleanest run , with zero traffic , road was clean and the pace was brisk. I am suprised they did not gain on the S1000RR.
Last time on the 851 the Ferrari passed half way up the mtn.

Ride safe and keep well.

Hey John , glad to see you are sharing the same joys as some of us , wait till potty training , changed 4  pairs of underwear just today !!!. But after you clean him up he goes and sits on the potty JUST TO PROVE A PT ! Little S*** , , and then he gives me the biggest hug ever  .

Hey. You musta got them to install the white tank as well? I'm still getting used to mine ... Only 1100 miles. Great bike ... Except for one thing. I have to put it in race mode to get the off- idle throttle response to feel right. Rain and sport both feel dead off idle. If I go from the s1000 over to my carburated liter bike (1997 yzf1000) I'm giving it too much throttle off idle. Other than that ... It's much better than I am.

Your stable is stunning. Mine:

1987 Honda nt650
1990 ducati 851 bp
1997 yamaha yzf 1000
2004 ducati s4r
2010 BMW s1000rr ... Fast factory colors!

Cheers
