Post I got some MORE Italian hardware...
...it's not a Duc, but still very nice.

It's very Italian and VERY fast. Crazy good brakes...to a fault.
Not nearly as pretty as a nice red Duc, but it was a hell of a lot cheaper.[/img]

I wish!
I guess you haven't talked to Allen. I fell off on my way home after that last ride I did with you guys.

I was in stop and go traffic waiting to get on the 805. The guy in front of me in a SUV scooted up into the space in front of him but jammed on the brakes. When I saw my self running up on him, I grabbed too much brake and locked up the front wheel and it started to slide out to the left. I let go, the bike caught flipped to the left and then back to the right and this time, the back tire slid out and I laid it down. I slide for about a foot.

Unfortunately I should have let go of the bike, but it happened too fast.

The total damage is a broken collar bone, contused right knuckles, right shoulder and possible bruised right rib.

It looks like about 11-12 weeks. But that's the doctor's assessment. Maybe I can physical therapy my way back faster, but we'll see.

The bike is a little scraped up, but alright otherwise. I mainly bummed that I'm off the bike for so long.

Thanks fellas.

Being a cripple sucks. But Percocet is kinda nice.

Miss riding with the Saturday morning Duc crew, but I'll be back soon enough.

Drag a knee for me.

Oh man sorry to hear about the crash. I'm dreading the day I have my first crash, because it happens to everyone at least once right. Broken clavicles are the worst. I shattered mine into 3 pieces last August had surgery and everything. It took 6 or so months for me to be able to get back to my normal life. Still bugs me all the time though. One of the worst injury's I've had. Be careful with the percs, highly addictive. I was on it for about a month and had some pretty good withdraws from it. But they are fun haha, makes you feel like superman. Good luck with the healing, hope it's a speedy recovery for you.

I did a quick little ride around the block on my SV last weekend (3 weeks) and it was definitely a no-go. My collarbone couldn't take the pressure, same with my shoulder. I got two stop signs away and took it right back home.

My shoulder/collarbone is feeling a lot better: getting close to full motion and don't need the Percocet everyday.

Saturday, I took my Sport 1000 for a few blocks to my friends house to drop off a trickle charge. I needed to rest for a bit before I started back home (all 5 blocks of it).
Still no-go.

I imagine it will be probably two months total before I can do any real riding. :(

But I got some new forks for the Sport Classic. They are Showa forks with Ohlins internals off a wrecked 748 for $350.

Moto Forza said they should swap right over.

Anyone here have any experience with this?

Nice pick up on the folks, sounds nice.

I just wanted to say from experience, please don't rush the healing of your collar. It's really not worth the pain and the possiblity of messing up your shoulder/collar all together. I know I'm not one to tell you want to do, but I would hate to see you not be able to get back to 100% because of it. I messed my shoulder up good along with my clavicle because of the extent of my injury. During the healing process your shoulder well take the weight of your arm. Thus putting more strain of your shoulder socket. My shoulder is never going to be the same from now on. I would hate to see you go through that.

This might not even matter because of the extent of your break, mine was bad. I'm just trying to give some advice. Good luck.

Yeah, totally right. No point in rushing it.
Duly noted. Thanks for the advice.

Post Back on the bike
Interestingly enough, I started riding again.

I actually did my first ride about two weeks ago. I rode to work twice and did a long ride with Allan and Patrick on the Fri the 17th of Oct. My shoulder feels great. I went to the Dr last week and she said my collarbone looks great. Maybe even stronger the before because of the way it broke.

So, I am totally back.

Minibike Track day, here I come!!!!!
