here's another old one (not THAT old, I was #6 overall in WSMC in 2001 so this is from 2002 season) on my ol' '00 R6

Kenny in this pic are you trail braking? I see you have 2 fingers on the clutch as well. I know Pridmore lets the clutch out very slow when down shifting inorder to keep it smooth. Kind of like a little reverse trail braking.

Do you constantly keep one finger on the brake? I usually use two and I do not cover the brake unless I am preping for a corner and getting ready to brake. I haven't tried trail braking with one finger but maybe I should try it because I sometimes have trouble being light and smooth while trail braking.

I tend to have fingers out there a lot (on levers) even when I'm not usin' them, more so these days then I did 10 or 15 years ago judging by some of the older pics

Into turn 9 I downshift from 6th to 4th and the 999 doesn't have a slipper clutch, so YES I re-engage the clutch very very smoothly. It's a good procedure to try and/or learn, tho' I'm pretty good about matching revs anyway. It's likely that shot is just after my shifts but my fingers are just hanging out there in the breeze

The brakes are really good on my bikes, I usually just use one well-trained strong finger :D but I do in fact trail-brake like into turn 1 quite a bit, and a little into turn 3, 5 and maybe a teeny bit into 9 if I'm going really well.

When my hand is tired the two-fingers is better and if you're used to two fingers I wouldn't change that at all, just remember all the hard hard braking should be done with the bike straight up n' down, and then 'trail off' as you turn in. And, as always, if the bike doesn't seem to want to turn too well ya gotta get OFF the brakes.

The pic below is coming off turn 4 down the hill to 5, and I'm not doing anything yet, but as I straighten up the bike I'll squeeze the front brake on, with hardest application when straight up, then releasing smooothly as I turn in to the left. Should be off the brake totally before end of turn-in for 5, but I'm sure the finger hangs out there anyway.
